Poker is our foundation show lab stud, which we have been showing with Scott Sommer starting in April 2009. Poker was imported from Mexico as a Mexican and International champion and he quickly received his championship in the United States after just 4 shows. He is a very stylish show dog that has a fantastic head and a lot of class and quality true to its breed’s standards. He is extremely correct on his feet and legs, great coat and has flawless movement. We are delighted to have him and are looking forward in breeding him in years to come.

Poker has now produced several beautiful litters and he really marks his puppies with great pigment, bone, elegance and amazing disposition.

This fantastic dog was RWD LRC of the Potomac and Best Bred By Dog LRC of the Potomac, all at the age of 19 months this spring of 2009. This is what the judge said about Stone: “This top-class dog took my eye straight away for his close adherence to the breed’s standard, has a look of real quality and immediately impresses with his carriage and outline both standing and on the move, typical head with correct eye color and length of muzzle, clean strong neck set into well-placed shoulders, good round bone, correctly balanced all through. Well angulated hindquarters with good width of thigh, his tail is truly otter-like and he is a sound, true mover in all directions, a most impressive dog who well deserves to be a champion, a pleasure to award him RWD which he thoroughly deserved.” – David Craig

Stone arrived in Houston in the fall of 2009 and after being around him for 2 years now, we are absolutely delighted to have him. He is not only a tremendous Labrador with all the breed character in the world, but has a great happy disposition, likes the other dogs and loves retrieving bumpers… especially in the water. He has started his show career with a bang! Every dog show I have been to thus far, the judges can’t help but notice when he enters the ring. He is being shown by the best dog handler in the U.S., Mr. Scott Sommer. Scott takes care of the dogs like no other. I am delighted that we work together and he is based out of Houston. Stone has just become a Champion! Winning a 3 Point Major going WD and BOB at the Houston Dog - World Series of Dog Shows. Our thanks and appreciation to Dr. Steve Keating and Scott Sommer for this latest accomplishment. Stone has now bread his second litter -

Smoke is our Senior Hunting lab with two master passes who is now retired. I bought Smoke in 1999 from my dear friend Joannie Miller of Miller Creek Kennels. She allowed me to select the pick of the litter of one of her favorite bitches and from a son of the field national champion, FC NAFC MD's Cotton Pick'n Cropper, who qualified for 11 nationals and gained over 130 points throughout his career. Smoke has been an amazing athlete all of his life however, it was unfortunate that I was unaware of the best field trial trainers at the time otherwise he would have finished his Master Hunter title very easily. He was not only a spectacular athlete in the field but has proven to be a magnificent, loving, protective member of our family. In the lab world, his pedigree reads like a who's who of the most accomplished dogs in our breed. He loves to swim and be included in everything we do and everywhere we go. We have kept a daughter (Flame) which has now achieved her Jr. Hunter title. (Flame is the daugther of Rosie)
